Hello!
This Blog has nothing to do with button hooks, so if that was what you were looking for – sorry to disappoint! However, I will be writing about my thoughts, so at least that part of the title is true. In case you were wondering, I was struggling to come up with a suitable name for my blog, and so tried out one of those on-line name generators. The Thoughtful Button Hook is what it came up with, and I rather like it – quirky and interesting and fun, which is what I am aiming for with my writing.
What this blog is ACTUALLY about is my endeavours to become a published writer within the everyday contexts of being a mother of two girls, living with various pets ( an inherited poodle called Lucy, a rabbit and guineapig, some fish and we think there might be rats in our roof space…), the occupier of a cottage in a little English village and also a nurse. I like to keep myself busy!! (well, that last part is a slight fib – I like to sit and drink wine and chat with girl friends, but I don’t get paid for doing that…)
The other thing I should mention is that I am a BIG Harry Potter fan. There, I said it, and I am not ashamed. Despite all the comments I get such as “But…isn’t that a children’s book?” – have you READ it?? Anyway, there are thousands of adult Harry Potter fans world wide. I am not alone.
Feel free to leave comments – looking forward to hearing from you!
Kate
I don’t think being a fan of Harry Potter is something to be ashamed of. It’s awesome to hear that even some parents appreciate the book. My Mom loves the series as much as I do and she’s a mother of three girls!
Ahhh, thanks! I’m really NOT ashamed of it, I think it is the most awesome thing ever! I was just trying to fend off the eye rolling…you know?
Point. Others don’t just understand.
Miss you coming around. Hope things have turned out well for you and your friend.
Thank you! My friend is better than she was, but not 100% out of the woods. Its just a ‘wait and see’.
Thanks for thinking of me. It kind of took a chunk out of me for a while there.
I haven’t written a damn thing all summer. But I’m starting to get my mojo back slowly!
